Post Discussion Reflection (Nov 17th)
In our discussion today, I chose my favorite passage as the part where Supeet saved Jacob from the fire. It's my favorite because if Jacob was not save, that would be the end of the story of Thunder Cave. My least favorite part of the story was when the elephants were killed by the poachers. I think it is so sad and I felt angry that people could do such a thing. One of the student spotted the word 'Thunder Cave' in page 150 of the book, though I am not too sure is it a real cave or just a name given to something. Someone asked what would happen to Jacob if Supeet did not help him. I would say that he will struggle to survive or he might just die of thirst. My friend asked what would happen if Jacob never went to Kenya and did not stay with his cousin. He would have been sad and lonely. When asked, do I have any connection with the story, I felt I do, in some way. Like Jacob's dad, my dad is away to other countries for work most of the time but I am definately luckier as my parents are still together, unlike Jacob's where they are divorced.
